About

Ordinary Drip didn’t begin as a sterile business plan. It grew organically from the pure passion of coffee enthusiasts.

Years ago, while tasting and sharing global coffee samples, this community faced a significant hurdle: for an individual in Europe, ordering from outstanding international roasters always came with prohibitive logistics costs and shipping complexities. Their initial solution was organizing “Group Buys.” From those collective efforts to share extraordinary experiences, the vision for a professional subscription model was born.

Ordinary Drip exists to solve that problem. Acting on behalf of the community, they dismantle geographical barriers through a multi-roaster subscription format, serving as the gateway that delivers the world’s finest coffee brands straight to European consumers every month.

THE FOUNDER AND A RIGOROUS CURATION LENS

The driving force behind Ordinary Drip is Alexander Lücke (Alex). Headquartered in Berlin, one of Germany’s coffee capitals, Alex understood a fundamental truth: Europe does not lack excellent coffee, but it does lack diversity in roasting styles and unique sourcing approaches from roasters beyond its borders.

To fill this void, Alex built a remarkably strict flavor evaluation structure for their flagship offering, the Ordinary Drips’ finest. Each month, subscribers receive three coffees from three different international roasters, strictly adhering to a balanced triad:

Clean: A lot (often Washed) representing absolute clarity and a refined structure.

Vibrant: A coffee delivering a lively, explosive flavor profile, typically from Natural or experimental processing methods.

Rare: The final piece, reserved for rare varietals, unique microclimates, or a groundbreaking roasting style.

XLIII Coffee’s inclusion in Ordinary Drip’s portfolio is a testament to our lots successfully meeting the rigorous evaluation standards of the European market.

WHY WE CHOOSE Ordinary Drip Coffee

This milestone is more than just entering a new continent. It is the deliberate introduction of our Extremely Light roasted profiles from Vietnam directly into the historic, demanding, and highly community-driven specialty coffee ecosystem of Europe.

The alliance between XLIII Coffee and Ordinary Drip is anchored by two unwavering philosophical pillars:

Uncompromising Ultralight Precision

Ordinary Drip is one of the few platforms in Europe that relentlessly pursues and exclusively distributes the Light/Ultralight Roast segment. This vision aligns perfectly with XLIII Coffee’s Extremely Light roast profile. Both brands reject any interference from smoke or roast defects. We view roasting strictly as a transparent lens, tasked solely with preserving and authentically reflecting the coffee’s terroir.

Connection Through Respect for Origin

Neither XLIII Coffee nor Ordinary Drip was created to cater to the mass market. This partnership is a mutual commitment to cultivating a community of true specialty coffee aficionados. These are consumers ready to embrace new experiences, value financial transparency, and understand the true worth of the efforts made by farmers globally.

Here, coffee is more than just a beverage. It is the shared language of a community that refuses to compromise.
