Second Wave Coffee
Second Wave Coffee (1970 – early 21st century) transformed coffee from a consumer product into a cultural experience. Starbucks pioneered the modern coffee shop model, where customers not only enjoyed coffee but also socialized and worked. Drinks like Espresso, Cappuccino, and Latte became popular, shaping new coffee consumption habits.
Consumers began to care more about the origin of coffee beans and brewing methods. However, mass production remained dominant, with dark roasting used for consistency, unintentionally masking the distinct flavors of different growing regions.
These limitations led to the emergence of Specialty Coffee, the third wave, where quality and transparency took center stage. XLIII Coffee embraces this standard, using only Specialty-grade beans and strict processing methods to deliver a refined and authentic coffee experience
