Cortado also known as Gibraltar, is a coffee beverage originating from Spain but has gained popularity in Australia.

In the specialty coffee world, Cortado is more than just a drink, it is a work of art, reflecting the barista’s expertise and deep understanding of coffee. The name “Cortado”, meaning “cut” in Spanish, refers to the way steamed milk is added to soften the bitterness of Espresso.

Professional baristas can customize Cortado to suit individual preferences by adjusting the shot/milk ratio or using different milk types to create unique flavors. Additionally, they can experiment with various specialty coffee beans, highlighting and celebrating the distinct flavor profiles of each variety.
