Eugenioides
Eugenioides is a rare coffee species native to East Africa and is recognized as one of the two parent plants of Arabica. Despite its historical significance, this variety remains largely unknown and is seldom cultivated due to its challenging growing conditions, low yield, and high production cost.
What sets Eugenioides apart is its remarkably sweet, smooth flavor profile with minimal acidity. Tasting notes often include lemon candy, cereal milk, sesame brittle, and tropical fruits—offering a truly unique sensory experience.
Thanks to its distinctive and layered flavor, Eugenioides made waves at the 2021 World Barista Championship and drew comparisons to the legendary Gesha variety. It has since earned growing admiration within the specialty coffee community for its exceptional cup quality and potential in high-end coffee competitions.
