Percolation
Percolation is a brewing method in which hot water is poured over coffee grounds in stages, often accompanied by sporadic agitation to extract soluble compounds. This process helps remove unwanted elements, and since it is repeated multiple times, it produces a clean, well-balanced cup.
In specialty coffee, percolation enhances clarity in the final brew, making it especially suited for light-roasted beans. This method is commonly used in V60, Chemex, Vietnamese phin, drip bags, and other similar brewers.
