SCAA
SCAA – The Specialty Coffee Association of America was founded in 1982 and played a key role in defining and developing standards for specialty coffee. With a mission to preserve and celebrate the original flavors of coffee beans, SCAA established a rigorous quality assessment system covering every stage, from cultivation and harvesting to processing and cupping.
Beyond setting industry standards, SCAA also promoted transparency and fairness in the specialty coffee sector, ensuring that coffee farmers received fair value for their products. In 2017, SCAA merged with SCAE (the Specialty Coffee Association of Europe) to form SCA (the Specialty Coffee Association), continuing its mission to elevate quality and awareness of specialty coffee worldwide.
