SLN6
SLN6 is a deliberately bred coffee variety from India, developed by crossing Kent Arabica, known for its cup quality, with Robusta S.274, recognized for its strong disease resistance.
This variety offers excellent resistance to leaf rust, estimated at around 85 to 90%, and has a wide adaptation range from 600 to 2,000 meters above sea level, making it suitable for many growing regions. In the cup, SLN 6 presents a balanced profile with mild acidity, medium body, and a clean, approachable finish.
SLN 6 is not usually considered a competition-focused variety or as highly sought after as Gesha or Typica Mejorado, as it lacks an especially dramatic flavor profile. However, when cultivated carefully in regions such as Coorg or the Nilgiris of India, it can still produce clean, balanced coffees scoring above 80 points on the SCA scale.
