The number of female managers in the coffee industry is on the rise.
According to the 2017 report from the International Labour Organization, gender inequality in various professions is increasing globally. The International Coffee Organization’s 2018 research revealed that the female labor force on coffee farms reached up to 80%. However, the majority of these women are engaged in labor-intensive and unnoticed tasks, not being considered for high-ranking positions such as management or supervision.
Nevertheless, a recent ICO survey indicates that currently, about 20-30% of coffee farms worldwide are managed by women. The number of women in leadership positions is also increasing in many countries, especially in Brazil. According to a survey by the Geography and Statistics Institute of Brazil, the country has over 40,000 (approximately 13.2%) coffee farms managed by women. In addition to independently managed models, there are farms co-managed by couples. For this model, Brazil has 32,400 people at Arabica coffee bases and 15,700 people at Canephora coffee bases. This means that there are up to 88,700 women managing and co-managing coffee facilities across Brazil.

According to an ICO report, currently, about 20 – 30% of coffee farms globally are run by women
Women are striving for leadership positions in the coffee industry
The data indicates that women are gaining more attention in the coffee industry and asserting themselves in leadership roles from production to sales. This could be a result of the efforts of female workers along with training and gender equality improvement gender equality initiatives. These programs provide opportunities for education and skill development, enabling women to assert themselves in society.
For example, the Elas no Café project, built by the Reserva farm manager, aims to train and encourage women through theoretical and practical courses. The project has received widespread participation from women, experiencing a growth of approximately 792% in the number of participants since its establishment, with about 400 women trained.

Women are increasingly being affirmed in leadership roles
With higher access to education and the potential for women to achieve positive opportunities, they become more prominent in projects and farm management. Society’s awareness is expanding, gradually recognizing the importance of women for the sustainable development and productivity of the coffee industry. Experts note that most women have a more detailed and organized awareness, helping supervise processes contributing to coffee quality. They also contribute more opinions on how coffee farms operate, enhancing quality and productivity. Therefore, the entire industry needs to pay attention to recognizing the abilities and specific needs of women and future generations in coffee production to move toward a better future.

Nueva Alianza Maragogipe #4735 – The “Giant” at the center of attention
Amidst a world of countless specialty coffee beans, Nueva Alianza Maragogipe #4735 emerges as a symbol of grandeur, instantly commanding attention with its distinct appearance. Nueva Alianza Sidra #4736 – The sweetness born from the resilience of the Andes
Unlike the airy aromatic layers so often encountered, a cup of Nueva Alianza Sidra #4736 takes command of the palate through a distinctly physical sense of “weight” the creamy richness of Blueberry Yogurt and the dense, syrupy sweetness of a spoonful of Berry Jam. This shimmering, viscous body, achieved through the traditional Natural process, is the compressed result of the harsh cold currents that sweep across the Andes at 1,820 meters above sea level. At a deeper level, the sheer weight carried within this cup becomes a beautiful metaphor for the iron discipline and resilience of producer Dwight Aguilar Masías a man who has spent his entire life holding his ground, protecting an inherited landscape against the brutal upheavals of time and circumstance.

Ziriguidum #2 – A Proud Rhythm from the Heart of the Cerrado Savanna
In the native language of Brazil, Ziriguidum is an onomatopoeia capturing the powerful, frenetic rhythm of Samba percussion. Yet, as the namesake for the Ziriguidum #2 – Masterpieces Auction 2025 lot, this rhythm takes on a quieter, more profound meaning. It perfectly encapsulates a beautiful natural paradox: the flourishing of the fragile, caffeine-deficient Laurina variety amidst the harsh, arid expanse of the Cerrado savanna.
Rejecting all artificial fermentation techniques, producer Daterra Coffee preserves this pure genetic code through a meticulous Natural process, guided only by the primal sun. To taste Ziriguidum #2 is not merely to experience a sparkling flavor profile; it is an exploration of nature’s resilience, ecological restoration, and the absolute pinnacle of artisanal craft.
