Aramosa
Aramosa is an interspecific hybrid between Arabica and Racemosa, developed in Brazil. Racemosa originates from a small coastal and sandy forest region along the border of southern Mozambique and northern KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
Aramosa has been cultivated experimentally at elevations around 1,200 meters. Its most distinctive trait compared to conventional Arabica varieties is its caffeine content, which is only about 50% of typical Arabica levels. In the cup, it often expresses floral aromas, delicate sweetness, and a softer bitterness than standard Arabica.
At present, Aramosa remains in the experimental stage and is considered a “pre-cultivar”, meaning it has been selected and cultivated, but has not yet been officially recognized as an independent variety.
