CQI (Coffee Quality Institute) is an international non-profit organization founded in 1996, playing a crucial role in improving coffee quality worldwide.
CQI’s primary mission is to enhance coffee quality and improve the livelihoods of producers through education, training, and quality evaluation standards. Additionally, CQI contributes to the growth of specialty coffee by setting quality benchmarks and fostering sustainable development in the industry. The organization is well known for its Q Grader (for Arabica) and R Grader (for Robusta) certification programs, which train and certify professionals to evaluate coffee with objectivity and precision.
Beyond certifications, CQI actively supports farmers, promotes gender equality in the coffee industry, and encourages sustainable farming practices to ensure a better future for coffee production.
