Obata
Obata is an Arabica hybrid of Timor Hybrid and Villa Sarchi, developed in Brazil in 2000.
It has a medium canopy, vigorous growth, and adapts well to humid tropical climates at altitudes of 800-1,400 meters. In terms of cup profile, Obata often delivers a balanced, sweet finish with a smooth body, featuring notes of caramel, chocolate, and light fruit, making it suitable for filter brews, espresso shots, and milk-based drinks.
Thanks to its combination of strong disease resistance and consistent bean quality, Obata is gaining increasing attention from both coffee farmers and specialty roasters.
