SCA Announces: “Specialty Coffee Expo” to Be Renamed “World of Coffee” in 2026

The Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) has officially announced a strategic transformation: North America’s flagship specialty coffee event – the Specialty Coffee Expo – will be renamed World of Coffee starting in 2026. The first edition under this global brand will take place from April 10 to 12, 2026, at the San Diego Convention Center in California.

SCA công bố: “Specialty Coffee Expo” sẽ đổi tên thành “World of Coffee” vào 2026

According to SCA, renaming the Specialty Coffee Expo to World of Coffee marks a significant evolution toward unifying its global series of specialty coffee events. With a strong presence in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, this rebranding aligns North America with one of the most influential coffee event ecosystems in the world — providing a powerful platform for creativity, business networking, and trend exploration.

The renamed event will continue to serve as a global meeting point for the specialty coffee community — bringing together producers, businesses, roasters, baristas, and industry experts to learn, grow, and expand into new markets. Designed as a space for innovation, World of Coffee San Diego will empower professionals to broaden their reach, discover emerging trends, and build meaningful connections across the international coffee landscape.

As part of the global World of Coffee ecosystem, the San Diego event will enable businesses to access new markets, source quality supply, and form cross-border strategic partnerships. Since its inception in 2010 in Europe, the World of Coffee brand has become a landmark event, attracting thousands of professionals across the entire coffee value chain — from farmers and producers to tech companies, distributors, and retailers.

The final edition under the name Specialty Coffee Expo will take place in Houston, Texas, from April 25 to 27, 2025, expecting to welcome over 17,000 attendees from 85 countries. Immediately after, World of Coffee San Diego 2026 will mark the brand’s first North American appearance — featuring hallmark elements such as a large-scale exhibition, academic lectures, cutting-edge technology showcases, interactive experiences, and notably, the World Latte Art Championship.

Booth registration for World of Coffee San Diego 2026 is now open via exhibit@sca.coffee. Interested sponsors and partners are encouraged to reach out at sponsors@sca.coffee. Meanwhile, registration for the 2025 edition in Houston remains open at www.coffeeexpo.org, where you can join the journey alongside the global coffee community.

The Specialty Coffee Association will continue to serve as a hub for connecting thought leaders, fostering multilateral collaboration, and sharing innovative solutions in a rapidly evolving coffee industry. From San Diego 2026, a new chapter begins — one defined by international spirit, shared knowledge, and sustainability, shaping the future of specialty coffee worldwide.
