XLIII Coffee: A 7-Year Journey of Creating Authentic Value
Though seven years may seem like just a brief moment in the vast history of coffee, it has been enough time for a small roastery to evolve into a coffee brand with a profound philosophy and sustainable values. Let’s look back at the milestone journey of XLIII Coffee’s relentless pursuit of specialty coffee, their steadfast steps toward authentic values, and their aspiration to build a sustainable coffee community.
Steadfast Commitment to Core Values
Over the past seven years, the coffee world has witnessed constant changes. Amidst this landscape, XLIII Coffee has remained committed to the core values that have shaped their brand identity from the beginning:
2024 marked a significant turning point when 43 Factory Coffee Roaster officially transformed into XLIII Coffee. This wasn’t merely a name change but the crystallization of values that had been cultivated and the beginning of a new chapter full of aspiration. The name XLIII still echoes the spirit of 43 Factory but has been elevated with greater ambitions for a sustainable coffee community where the true value of coffee beans is fully understood and honored.

Creation Journey – Proud Milestones
A brand’s history isn’t simply a chain of events but a journey of ideas being nurtured, challenges overcome, and values created. For XLIII Coffee, each development stage carries its own distinctive marks, contributing to a comprehensive picture of the journey pursuing authentic value in specialty coffee.
2018-2019: First Steps – Building a Solid Foundation

At a time when the concept of specialty coffee was still relatively new in Vietnam, the predecessor 43 Factory Coffee Roaster dared to take its first steps on this challenging path. From a small roastery in Da Nang, the brand began building its own philosophy about specialty coffee – where the authentic value of coffee beans is prioritized. Not limited to just roasting and serving coffee, the brand’s pioneers spent countless sleepless nights researching, learning, and gradually forming their distinctive standards and processes.
2020-2021: Challenges and Growth – Affirming Character

When the Covid-19 pandemic swept the globe, the coffee industry faced unprecedented challenges. Yet, it was during this difficult period that the brand’s spirit and true character were clearly demonstrated. Instead of retreating, the team used this time to strengthen internal resources, refine processes, and most importantly – maintain valuable relationships with production partners. Each cup of coffee during this period wasn’t just a product but evidence of perseverance and belief in authentic values.
2022-2023: Meaningful Transformation

2022 marked a significant milestone when the brand expanded to Ho Chi Minh City. May 2023 witnessed a meaningful transformation moment when 43 Factory Coffee Roaster officially became XLIII Coffee. The robust Roman numeral stands as a declaration of maturity and aspiration to reach far for a fully developed brand while preserving the core values that created it.
That same year, XLIII Coffee continued to expand its presence to Hoi An’s ancient town. Among moss-covered streets and ancient tiled roofs, XLIII Coffee brought a modern yet refined specialty coffee space where the authentic flavor of coffee blends with the contemplative culture of a land full of nostalgia.
2024-2025: Affirming Position – Reaching International Level

2024 was crowned by the brilliant success of the Taste the Origin Talkshow in December, marking an important milestone in affirming XLIII Coffee’s position on the international specialty coffee map. The presence of Crop to Cup – a respected importing partner from Brooklyn, USA, was not only an opportunity for exchange and knowledge sharing but also evidence that the values the brand pursues are being recognized globally.
Moving into 2025, XLIII Coffee continues to expand its influence with the opening of its fourth store in the premium Thao Dien area of Ho Chi Minh City. This new space is designed with the strictest environmental and technological standards, promising to deliver a completely new specialty coffee experience worthy of the brand’s aspiration to continuously elevate standards.
Global Partner Network
–
Foundation for Authentic Quality
In the journey of pursuing and protecting the authentic value of specialty coffee, XLIII Coffee has been building a network of strategic partners spanning famous coffee-growing regions worldwide. Each collaborative relationship is built on transparency, trust, and shared commitment to quality and sustainability.
Crop to Cup – Strategic Partner Paving the Way for a Sustainable Future
The collaboration with Crop to Cup – a coffee importing company headquartered in Brooklyn, marks an important step in XLIII Coffee’s development strategy. The relationship combines commercial elements and shared values and vision. Crop to Cup’s philosophy of “Good coffee comes from good people” has found resonance with XLIII Coffee’s sustainable development orientation.
Established in 2007, Crop to Cup has built an extensive network with over 110 farming communities worldwide. They not only serve as a bridge between talented farmers and quality-passionate roasters but are also pioneers in promoting transparency and sustainability in the coffee supply chain.
The Journey with Our Partners
Our journey is not measured in kilometers, but in the depth of our direct trade partnerships. We don’t just seek out regions; we seek out people, pioneering producers who dedicate their lives and passion to reshaping the future of specialty coffee.
This journey leads us to Granja La Esperanza in Colombia, an industry icon where the most daring experimental processing methods are applied to rare varieties like Sudan Rume and Gesha, consistently producing world-championship-winning lots. We also connect with Finca La Palestina, where producer Rodrigo Sanchez Valencia preserves and cultivates the unique Pink Bourbon variety in the fertile lands of Huila, yielding unmistakable notes of delicate fruit.
We honor the multi-generational coffee legacy of Fincas Mierisch, a family that has dedicated over a century to meticulously cultivating and processing each micro-lot across their farms in both Nicaragua and Honduras. From them, we source exceptional varieties like Javanica, Laurina, and Ethiosar. Our journey continues to the soaring peaks of the Andes in Peru, to Finca Soledad from producer Jose Uechi, where coffee is grown using organic and biodynamic practices at altitudes exceeding 1800 meters, resulting in a flavor profile of extraordinary clarity and complexity.
We are also proud to partner with Ratnagiri Estate, who are redefining the standards of Indian specialty coffee. Through precision and rigorous control in every stage of processing, they have elevated native coffee varieties, proving that top-tier quality can come from any origin when driven by passion and knowledge.
Each name, each farm is more than just a supplier. They are our partners, an indispensable part of the story of origin that XLIII Coffee is proud to bring home and share in every cup.

The “Four Elements” in the Art of Authentic Coffee
Like a perfect symphony requiring the harmony of four string sections, the journey of creating a specialty coffee cup at XLIII Coffee is also woven from four fundamental elements. These “Four Elements” are both process-oriented and express a profound philosophy about how to understand, honor, and elevate the authentic value of coffee beans.
Future Vision
Six years of creating authentic values has taken XLIII Coffee from a small roastery in Da Nang to a brand with a voice in the global specialty coffee community. Opening the new space in Thao Dien isn’t merely a geographical expansion but evidence of the brand’s maturity and constant aspiration. Each new space opened is an opportunity to spread core values and connect more people with the story of authentic coffee.
Collaborating with reputable partners like Crop to Cup, along with the Taste the Origin event, has laid foundations for further steps on the international specialty coffee map. However, for XLIII Coffee, success isn’t just measured by scale or market expansion but by positive impact on the community and coffee industry. We believe that a truly good cup of coffee must come from a sustainable supply chain where each member is respected and treated fairly.
On the journey ahead, XLIII Coffee will continue steadfastly with its mission to protect and spread the authentic value of specialty coffee, contributing to creating a sustainable future for the Vietnamese and global coffee industry.
