What is Px Coffee? Does Px affect coffee quality and health?

With the hustle and bustle of work, we often consume large amounts of caffeine into our bodies every day. In the long term, this can lead to side effects such as hand tremors, heart palpitations, insomnia, etc. To improve this condition, many people have turned to non-caffeine products such as decaf or other types of caffeine. Coffee has a naturally low caffeine content. However, these products do not have the same effect of providing energy and alertness as caffeine. Therefore, scientists have created Px coffee (Paraxanthine coffee) – a new product that can replace regular coffee without causing side effects. So what is Px? Does it have negative effects on health or the taste quality of coffee? Explore with XLIII Coffee!

Correct understanding of Px coffee

Px coffee, also known as Paraxanthine coffee, is a product created by the metabolism of caffeine. In particular, the amount of caffeine in coffee will react with the cytochrome P450 enzyme to form Px. Scientists say that coffee plants cannot synthesize Px. Therefore, Px coffee is currently only produced in the laboratory.

Basically, Px coffee is the same as regular coffee on the market with the ability to stimulate the nerves and create alertness. In addition, Px is a quite familiar substance in the food industry. Many energy drinks and energy supplements on the market contain Px.

Does Px coffee change the taste and quality?

Professor of Chemistry at Zurich University of Applied Sciences said that Px has very little effect on the taste of coffee. Furthermore, given the amount of Px used, the impact on flavor was negligible. The CEO of Rarebird Coffee – the company that produces the first and only Px coffee globally – also said that the taste of this product line is comparable to regular caffeinated coffee. The experiencer will not see any difference in mouthfeel and sensory characteristics between the two types of coffee. Rarebird’s products even won the Best New Product award at the 2023 Specialty Coffee Show in Portland, Oregon.

Px coffee has the effect of improving physical and mental health

According to studies, Caffeine and Px essentially work in similar ways. A 1995 clinical trial found that both caffeine and Px inhibit adenosine receptors leading to mental stimulation, release of adrenaline and dopamine, and activation of the sympathetic nervous system. Through studies on mice from 2012 to present, Px was found to have the ability to stimulate and increase dopamine levels and motor performance in the brain more effectively.

In addition, clinical trials have shown that Px has similar cardiovascular, hormonal and metabolic effects as caffeine. In particular, using Px coffee every day can enhance memory functions, thinking ability, reflexes and attention concentration. In particular, a 2023 study found Px to be safer than caffeine. Several other studies have also shown that consuming Px has little to no negative side effects and has some health benefits. People who use Px coffee for a long time do not show signs of nausea, insomnia, intoxication, or dizziness.

With outstanding advantages in terms of uses and health values, Px coffee can be a great alternative product for people who cannot tolerate caffeine. However, because it is a product created by science, it requires a lot of research and testing to make it widely available. Now, if you need a solution to satisfy your passion for flavor but are concerned about caffeine, try decaf specialty coffee beans from XLIII Coffee. The coffee uses the Swiss Water Processed method from Switzerland, reducing up to 90% of caffeine while still retaining each layer of delicate flavor.
