Development
Café Granja La Esperanza started with Potosí farm, Valle del Cauca, in 1945. This farm mainly cultivates Yello Bourbon, Red Bourbon, and Caturra coffee varieties.
Sustainable development orientation, willingness to innovate, and love of coffee have shaped the path that Café Granja La Esperanza takes. This producer is determined to cultivate organic specialty coffee and gradually expand its scale with successive farms such as Las Margaritas and La Esperanza.

In 2003, Café Granja La Esperanza decided to export the best batches of the region’s finest specialty coffees.
In 2007, Café Granja La Esperanza founders Rigoberto Herrera and Luis Herrera had the opportunity to manage a farm in Panama where they cultivate Gesha coffee varieties. This producer has made its mark with the victory at the Best of Panama contest with the famous Gesha coffee variety grown on the farm Cerro Azul. This is an essential turning point for spreading the value of sustainable specialty coffee and starting a new era of Café Granja La Esperanza.
Sustainable development
Café Granja La Esperanza is operated by generations in the family, so the corporate orientation, like the approach to coffee, is maintained consistently towards joint development.
Café Granja La Esperanza operates five farms and 12 coffee communities. Those five farms include Cerro Azul, Las Margaritas, La Esperanza, Potosi, and Hawaii.
A quality laboratory monitors Café Granja La Esperanza’s regional coffee quality at all process stages. They transfer their knowledge and production practices to their affiliated suppliers, ensuring the coffee consistently scores 84 or higher SCA.
