Finca Soledad Mejorada – Coffee lot of Finca Soledad cloud farm
Finca Soledad Mejorada Coffee is a new name in the world of specialty coffee. This coffee beans grown at Finca Soledad farm have soft, abundant notes that make anyone who has tasted them remember forever. Is the land where it was born so beautiful that the coffee beans are so attractive? Let’s explore with XLIII Coffee about the nurturing roots and aromas of this coffee!
Mejorada - New coffee variety of Ecuador
The Mejorada coffee variety was born from the laboratory of the National Coffee Research Institute of Ecuador, with the mission to become a coffee variety with high quality, good disease tolerance and adaptability to the climate and soil conditions of this country.
Previously, Mejorada was known as Typical Mejorada because the two types share some similarities in seed characteristics and growing conditions. However, when World Coffee Research conducted genetic testing, people pinpointed its origin – the hybrid offspring of Bourbon and Landrace of Ethiopia. Mejorada coffee has a novel flavor profile, high yield and superior resistance to pests and diseases, so it is very popular with producers, grown in many provinces of Ecuador such as Imbabura, Loja, El Oro and Morona Santiago. It is considered one of the high-quality Ecuadorian coffee varieties that are exported to many countries around the world, providing income for farmers and contributing to the conservation of the precious genetic resources of the coffee plant.
Finca Coffee Soledad Mejorada grew up on a cloud farm
Finca Soledad Mejorada Coffee is a special batch of coffee from Finca Soledad farm. This beautiful farm is located in the rainforest in the Intag valley, Northern Ecuador. Finca Soledad is up to 120 hectares wide, but Pepe – the farm owner only focuses on 4 hectares to optimize the cultivation of coffee. Finca Soledad Mejorada’s growing area is located right on the mountains from 1,515m to the top of the sky. Layers of smooth white drifting around Finca Soledad make it like a farm in the clouds in old stories. Hidden in the background of clouds is the green color of lush green shrubs and trees. Fertile soil embellished with volcanic magma hundreds of years ago and the most diverse ecosystem in Ecuador. It is because of that abundance that Mejorada matures strongly, the coffee tree fully absorbs nutrients deep in the ground to produce stout coffee beans with bold characteristics of the growing region.
Here, the Mejorada coffee tree is nurtured naturally to become one with the environment. Coffee sprouts are grown, protected from the negative effects of the sun and climate change thanks to the surrounding large trees. Coffee beans are pollinated and fully developed by the environment thanks to biodiversity. The nutrition of coffee is also completely natural, no chemicals are used to create the most natural sweetness and purest flavor.
The versatile, multi-layered flavor of Finca Soledad Mejorada coffee
Complex unique flavors
There are few types of coffee as diverse as Finca Mejorada coffee. Flexible notes from hydrangea, marigold to hibiscus. Slowly enjoy letting those layers of incense penetrate deeply into your subconscious, leading you to step into the old forest in the green Intag valley. Relax your mind to immerse yourself in the cool breeze, drift with the gentle fragrance and continue to discover a little sweetness. Maybe you will feel something very similar to the taste of grapes, cool oranges. Sometimes you will feel the taste of colostrum. That greasy taste mixed with the typical notes of crunchy blueberries makes the experience sobbing. But the Finca Soledad Mejorada hierarchy is more than that. The taste of this light brown Ecuadorian coffee is much more complex. The longer the steeping time, the more you can taste clementine, honey, cotton candy, purple plum and even earl tea. They move harmoniously, dynamically on each tactile cell to show off different layers of sweet and sour.
Vibrant Acidity
Carrying the genetics of Bourbon and Landrace varieties, Mejorada coffee has an extremely complex acidity. The grain configuration is made up of layers and layers of natural acids Malic and Tartaric creating vivid, bright acidity. In addition, the coffee at XLIII Coffee is roasted extremely light, making the acid in the beans even more prominent. Therefore, when the Malic and Tartaric extractions have reached their maximum levels, they strongly radiate with the flow, making a cup of coffee full of fresh citrus flavor.
Finca Soledad Mejorada is raised by people with a deep love of nature and a sustainable vision of Finca Soledad Farm. Coffee beans not only have a wonderful lively aroma, but also have a profound meaning for the sustainable development of society and the environment. Nueva Alianza Maragogipe #4735 – The “Giant” at the center of attention
Amidst a world of countless specialty coffee beans, Nueva Alianza Maragogipe #4735 emerges as a symbol of grandeur, instantly commanding attention with its distinct appearance. Affectionately dubbed the “Giant” for its impressively mutated “Elephant Bean” size, lot #4735 from Nueva Alianza stands as a testament to nature’s wonders in the Cusco region. Yet, its true allure extends far beyond its imposing exterior; hidden within these colossal beans lies a gentle “soul” blooming with pure floral and crystalline fruit notes.
Nueva Alianza Sidra #4736 – The sweetness born from the resilience of the Andes
Unlike the airy aromatic layers so often encountered, a cup of Nueva Alianza Sidra #4736 takes command of the palate through a distinctly physical sense of “weight” the creamy richness of Blueberry Yogurt and the dense, syrupy sweetness of a spoonful of Berry Jam. This shimmering, viscous body, achieved through the traditional Natural process, is the compressed result of the harsh cold currents that sweep across the Andes at 1,820 meters above sea level. At a deeper level, the sheer weight carried within this cup becomes a beautiful metaphor for the iron discipline and resilience of producer Dwight Aguilar Masías a man who has spent his entire life holding his ground, protecting an inherited landscape against the brutal upheavals of time and circumstance.

Ziriguidum #2 – A Proud Rhythm from the Heart of the Cerrado Savanna
In the native language of Brazil, Ziriguidum is an onomatopoeia capturing the powerful, frenetic rhythm of Samba percussion. Yet, as the namesake for the Ziriguidum #2 – Masterpieces Auction 2025 lot, this rhythm takes on a quieter, more profound meaning. It perfectly encapsulates a beautiful natural paradox: the flourishing of the fragile, caffeine-deficient Laurina variety amidst the harsh, arid expanse of the Cerrado savanna.
Rejecting all artificial fermentation techniques, producer Daterra Coffee preserves this pure genetic code through a meticulous Natural process, guided only by the primal sun. To taste Ziriguidum #2 is not merely to experience a sparkling flavor profile; it is an exploration of nature’s resilience, ecological restoration, and the absolute pinnacle of artisanal craft.
