XLIII Coffee and Four Masterpiece Coffee Ecosystems at Cafe Show Vietnam 2026

The biodiversity map sketched by XLIII Coffee at Cafe Show Vietnam 2026 transcends static coordinates on paper. It is a living entity, woven from complex genetic codes and the silent biochemical shifts within the green coffee bean. To truly grasp the spirit of “A Cup of the World,” we must look beyond the vibrant extraction and reach the core of these bean ecosystems – where genetic identity meets processing discipline.

This April at Hall A – SECC, we bring you stories of adaptation, prestigious auctions, and rare profiles waiting to be unraveled. The coffee collections below represent the main sensory “territories” that will help XLIII Coffee redefine the boundaries of Specialty Coffee.

Deep Dive #1 | Nueva Alianza - The Convergence of Genetic Dreams

If we had to choose a symbol of resilience and agronomic wisdom at Cafe Show Vietnam 2026, it would undoubtedly be Nueva Alianza. Situated at 1,820 MASL in the Andes, where the warmth of the Amazon rainforest meets the chill of the high-altitude clouds, Dwight Aguilar Masías’s farm doesn’t just grow coffee; he is cultivating “genetic dreams.”

At this exhibition, we present the complete Nueva Alianza ecosystem, where every varietal tells a chapter of the terroir’s true story.

The Gesha Dynasty: The Cherry Color Spectrum

At Nueva Alianza, the Gesha lineage does not exist singularly. Under the hands of champion producer Dwight, this pristine varietal is diversified based on the cherry’s color spectrum – a biochemical factor that directly dictates sugar concentration and organic acid structure:

  • Nueva Alianza Red Gesha #4729 represents the essence of stability. This lot is a continuation of classic flavor hallmarks with an absolutely clean structure. Notes of jasmine and orange blossom radiate against a soft white peach background, evidencing a pure genetic foundation nurtured with iron-clad discipline.
  • Nueva Alianza Yellow Gesha #4730 is likened to the “Champagne” of the Andes. The brilliant yellow skin is not just a visual identifier but a natural sunlight-reflecting mechanism. This ability to protect the seed from excessive heat allows the Yellow Gesha to perfectly retain its vibrant organic acids. The resulting cup bursts like sparkling Champagne, transparent and delicate, with the brilliance of passion fruit and the sweetness of honeysuckle.
  • Nueva Alianza Orange Gesha #4737 is born from a genetic marriage. It sits at the intersection of Ethiopian Gesha’s elegant florals and the dense fructose structure of Orange Bourbon. High cellular density and concentrated nutrients turn this mutation into a radiant sphere: vibrant acidity explodes alongside fresh grape and mandarin, finishing with a remarkably juicy and elegant mouthfeel.
  • Nueva Alianza ‘Inca Gesha’ #4734 challenges the palate with its identity of adaptation. Transcending conventional genetic boundaries, the Inca Gesha is a mutation steeped in the cultural breath of the ancient Inca civilization. Growing slowly alongside native vegetation, its flavor profile is not ostentatious but deeply resonant, achieving a stunning harmony with notes of strawberry, bright red apple, and profound rose.

Rare Heritage: When “Giants” and Heritage Varietals Speak

Emerging with groundbreaking microlots, Nueva Alianza is also a steadfast representative in preserving ancient values and rare natural mutations:

  • Nueva Alianza Sidra #4736 is positioned as XLIII Coffee’s focal point at this event. It represents the most powerful wave of innovation in Cusco coffee – a masterpiece of sensory architecture. Through the Natural process, the Sidra’s sugar concentration is maximized, evoking alluring jars of blueberry jam. The complex interplay of malic and tartaric acids creates a creamy, blueberry yogurt-like mouthfeel – an extraordinary experience visitors can only find during the 3 days of the expo.
  • Nueva Alianza Maragogipe #4735 often called the miraculous “Elephant Bean.” As a natural mutation carrying a single dominant gene from the Typica varietal, Maragogipe boasts massive bean size and a uniquely porous structure. The challenge of controlling roasting temperatures is handled by XLIII Coffee through an extremely light roasting technique, unleashing notes of hibiscus and juicy red cherry.

  • Nueva Alianza Pacamara #4733 is the intersection of Pacas and Maragogipe, showcasing a tight structure and immense expressive depth. The cup is a vibrant resonance of lemongrass, ginger, and jasmine on a full, velvety body.

  • Nueva Alianza Mejorado #4039: returns with a more subdued and mature melody. This year’s Mejorado does not flaunt brightly but conquers through the pristine cleanliness of white florals and stone fruits (plum, fig), offering a tranquil sensation like a cool breeze from the Andean highlands.

Preserving Identity Through an Extremely Light Roast Philosophy

Every bean in the Nueva Alianza ecosystem, whether carrying the giant dominant gene of Maragogipe or the slender elegance of Gesha, is protected by our Extremely Light roast profile. At XLIII Coffee, we do not seek to “reshape” flavors with fire. We step back, rejecting the distortion of pyrolysis, allowing the coffee to tell its own story of 1,820 meters in elevation and the dedication of the Dwight Aguilar family.

This ecosystem is more than just agricultural produce; it is proof that paying a fair price (Direct Trade) can nurture biodiversity and preserve the rarest species in the world.

Deep Dive #2 | The Human Value System - Voices from the Earth and Resilience

If the Nueva Alianza ecosystem is a genetic epic, the meeting between Chepsangor Hills Estate (Kenya) and My Liberica (Malaysia) at Cafe Show 2026 is a narrative of resilience. On one side is the effort to empower women on the slopes of the Nandi Hills; on the other is the renaissance of a forgotten species in the lowlands of Johor.

Here, coffee is not just a beverage; it is a bridge connecting processing science and compassion.

Chepsangor Hills Estate #2491: The Power of Knowledge and Discipline

Nestled at up to 2,000 MASL in the Nandi Hills of Kenya, lot #2491 is not only an agronomic masterpiece but also a manifesto of women’s empowerment. Led by Dr. Rosebella Langat, the over 100 members of the Chepsangor Women in Coffee group have proven that when women hold the knowledge of microbiology, they can redefine the standards of the Specialty Coffee industry.

  • The Intersection of Three Native Genomes: This lot is a complex resonance of SL28 (representing brilliant citric acidity), Ruiru 11 (a sturdy foundation of body and disease resistance), and Batian (the aspiration toward elegant floral notes). This intertwining creates a multifaceted structure that fully honors the vitality of the Great Rift Valley terroir.
  • The Anaerobic Washed Key: While the anaerobic fermentation process builds profound flavor depth, the subsequent washing step acts as an optical filter, stripping away any “noise.” This combination requires extremely rigorous control of pressure and pH levels.
  • A Flavor Profile of Empathy: Every layer of #2491 seems to reflect a character trait of the Nandi women. It opens with the bright, sharp acidity of Red Currant; transitions to the soft, forgiving sweetness of ripe Apricot; and closes with the quiet, wise depth of Black Cherry.

My Liberica Honey: High Notes from Deep Soil

While the Specialty Coffee world constantly looks toward towering peaks, My Liberica chose a thornier path: awakening a forgotten “giant” at a humble elevation of just 40-60 MASL. Jason Liew has executed a proud renaissance, turning a species once deemed “second-rate” into a sensory masterpiece, all encapsulated in the My Liberica Honey lot.

  • Powerful Survival Instincts: Liberica’s robust taproot system pierces through the dense, acidic clay of Kulai, Johor, to tap into deep mineral sources. This silent underground struggle yields a characteristically high sweetness and a syrupy, honey-like structure.
  • The Art of Honey Processing: The honey process at My Liberica retains a portion of the mucilage (the “sweet honey”) so the beans continue to be nourished by the sun and wind. This process softens its wild edges, turning rustic notes into something velvety smooth.
  • The Dance of Low and High Flavors: The cup opens with a rich Umami note – the voice of Mother Earth – transitions to the warmth of chocolate Brownie, and finishes with the airy “high note” of pristine wild honey. It is a resounding affirmation that when humans listen to the voice of the earth, any species can reach the pinnacle of refinement.

The Economics of Kindness Behind the Extraction

The presence of Chepsangor Hills and My Liberica at the XLIII Coffee booth is a testament to a value chain of kindness. The premium Direct Trade prices we pay are not merely to acquire coffee; they are direct investments in:

  • Women’s Autonomy: Turning rural Kenyan women into bona fide scientists in their own gardens.
  • Biodiversity: Supporting trailblazers like Jason Liew in preserving the Liberica species in the face of climate change.

Through the lens of the Extremely Light roasting method, XLIII Coffee’s workers will guide you through these flavor layers, showing you that behind every drop of coffee lies a story of human dignity and relentless perseverance.

Deep Dive #3 | Contemporary Legends - The Pinnacle of the Elite and Global Auctions

In the Specialty Coffee universe, certain lots are born not to serve the masses, but to set new sensory records. In this group, XLIII Coffee introduces two entities representing distinct philosophies: One is the tranquility and clarity of a pristine Panamanian stream; the other is the graceful, resilient Samba dance overcoming adversity in Brazil.

These are masterpieces available exclusively during the 3 days of the event, reserved for the most discerning palates.

Ninety Plus Yuzo – Sweetness Spreading Along a Cool Stream

Hailing from the slopes of the Volcán Barú volcano in Panama, Ninety Plus Yuzo embodies a proud ecological restoration led by Joseph Brodsky. The story of Yuzo is tied to Blue River – a lifeline named after the founder’s son, where the first batches of coffee were “cleansed” to reach absolute purity.

  • The Criolic™ Cleansing Ritual: What earns it the name “Yuzo” is the cold fermentation technique performed right in the icy waters of Blue River. This sudden drop in temperature halts sugar degradation, helping the flavor achieve crystal-clear clarity.
  • The Dance of Aroma and Taste: Through the Extremely Light roast, Yuzo does not present itself all at once but “tells a story” as the temperature changes. It begins with the purity of Jasmine and the sharp acidity of Yuzu (Japanese citrus); as it warms, the body becomes strangely rich and smooth like Greek Yogurt; and it finishes with the dense sweetness of ripe Sapodilla. A transparent experience akin to fine wine, with nothing to hide.

Malemolência #1 Masterpieces Auction 2025 – The Samba of Freedom

If Yuzo is tranquility, then Daterra Malemolência #1 – a masterpiece from the Masterpieces Auction 2025 (Brazil) – is a radiant burst of energy. “Malemolência” in the Brazilian soul is the intersection of impromptu artistic flair and the adept resilience to face adversity.

  • The Guarani Varietal is an Echo of Adaptation: Named after the indigenous tribe, the Guarani varietal possesses immense inner strength, preserving its flavor structure despite the harsh weather fluctuations of the Cerrado region.

  • 62-Hour Microbiological Discipline (Natural Anaerobic): The artistic touch lies in the use of Native Brazilian Yeast. 62 hours of anaerobic fermentation with native yeast acts as a reprogramming of the metabolic system, triggering classic esterification equations to create a rich aromatic network.

  • Sensory Signature: The coffee glides over the palate like a velvet ribbon. It starts with the crispness of Cantaloupe and Green Grape; follows with the juicy sweetness of Strawberry; and closes with the lingering resonance of Brandy-soaked Cherry Bonbons.

Ziriguidum #2 Masterpieces Auction 2025 – A Proud Rhythm from the Cerrado Savanna

Also emerging from the prestigious 2025 Masterpieces Auction, Ziriguidum #2 does not radiate the same vibrant, outgoing energy as Malemolência. Instead, this lot represents nature’s absolute sanctuary for its most fragile creations. “Ziriguidum” is the heartbeat of life rising from the arid depths of the Cerrado savanna.

  • Laurina – A Fragile Essence: In stark contrast to the robust strength of Guarani, Laurina is a fascinating natural genetic mutation. Its inherent lack of caffeine leaves the varietal incredibly vulnerable. It can only survive and bear fruit when cradled within the perfectly restored ecosystem that Daterra has tirelessly cultivated.
  • Primal Processing (Natural): To preserve the pristine purity of this bitterness-free genetic code, Daterra completely rejects all anaerobic fermentation techniques. Instead, Ziriguidum #2 concentrates its natural sugars through a deeply patient, traditional sun-drying process.
  • A Sparkling Structure: Devoid of the harshness of caffeine, Ziriguidum #2 delivers a crystal-clear and extraordinarily smooth mouthfeel. A sparkling acidity illuminates sharp notes of ripe grape and sweet cherry candy, ultimately settling into a tranquil, soothing finish of mint.

Transparent Values and Absolute Respect

XLIII Coffee bringing lots from the Masterpieces Auction or the Rare Coffee lines of Ninety Plus to Vietnam via Direct Trade is a commitment to ethics. The premium prices paid to producers act as capital to:

  • Revive Ancient Forests: Helping Ninety Plus continue their mission of “forests first, coffee second,” healing the barren hills of Panama.
  • Biological Corridors: Helping Daterra maintain the first sustainable farming model in Brazil to achieve Rainforest Alliance certification, protecting native wildlife.

Deep Dive #4 | Fincas Mierisch - Two Poles of Sensory Duality

The rest of the journey brings a symmetry courtesy of Fincas Mierisch.

Usually, agricultural greatness is measured by the vastness of thousand-hectare estates. But at the Santa Lucia estate in the Siguatepeque region, the Mierisch family has proven the opposite philosophy: The Power of Smallness.

A mere 22 hectares of humus-rich volcanic soil, Santa Lucia does not operate as a standard commercial farm, but as a masterpiece “nursery.” Here, every variable, from soil nutrition to shade ratios, is customized for each individual tree. The result is the birth of the Casona và Triangulo – two contrasting biological personalities sprouting on the same geographical terroir, separated by a mere 200 meters.

Santa Lucia Casona Gesha: A Solid Foundation and Timeless Elegance

Planted in 2014, La Casona is the foundational brick of the Mierisch family’s Gesha legacy. Facing soil with high humus and moisture, they executed an agronomic “revolution”: Grafting the Gesha trunk onto a Robusta rootstock.

  • The Robusta rootstock acts as a superior nutrient pump and a natural disease-resistant shield. It transfers intense vitality to the fragile Gesha trunk above without compromising its genetic flavor structure

  • Casona adheres to the golden ratios of flavor. It brings the elegance of Jasmine, green tea, and lemon, balanced by the deep, sweet finish of apricot and chocolate. A clean, flawless cup – the true standard of a timeless champion.

Santa Lucia Triangulo Gesha: Rebellious Heritage and a Wild Future

Just 200 meters from Casona, the Triangulo lot (planted in 2018) takes a completely different evolutionary turn. Here, the Mierisch family applied the technique of “intentional stress” to force the coffee tree to unleash its maximum inner strength.

  • With over 10% more shade canopy, photosynthesis occurs much slower and more persistently. This forces the coffee cherry to concentrate its sugars and minerals to an extreme degree before ripening.

  • Triangulo takes on the form of an impressionist painting – vibrant and breaking safe boundaries. The cup bursts with notes of Lychee, Rosehip, and a lingering aftertaste of Earl Grey tea. This is a “futuristic” coffee, geared toward the palate’s desire for novel exploration.
